Houston Homicide Detective Jack West is back from a much needed vacation. Early on his second day back to work, Jack and his partner catch a new murder. A young Hispanic woman is found dead behind a dumpster at her apartment complex. The Medical Examiner's report reveals similarities of their new case with that of a murder investigation headed up by Detectives Xi Chang and Jace Severson. The victims have nothing in common and are strangers. When a third murder victim is found under the bridge on the Buffalo Bayou, this confirms Houston has a serial killer on the loose.
