    Love Heyer, well narrated

    Katherine Press has really brought Heyer's wonderful writing to life. will look for more Press narrated books for sure.

    Story typical Heyer, but narrator not best choice

    my parents loved Heyers books, so I've read most of them and knew the story. This is one, that I particularly liked, but although Katherine Press has a very beautiful voice when she speaks the heroine, her male characters, especially the "hero" have terrible throaty and unattractive, annoying voices. In my opinion screws up the whole charme of the story and is sometimes hard to listen to. There are also female voices which were hurting my ears. I started another Heyer book from a male narrator, but there also the hero wasn't read well. Seems to be hard to find good readers for these stories.. i am sure, someone like Nathanael Parker would be good. Hoping for improvement, otherwise I'd rather read them myself again. 😉

    Soooo köstlich!

    Mein Lieblingsbuch unter Georgette Heyers Romanzen (zusammen mit "Frederica"), hab ich es schon so oft auf Deutsch gelesen, daß es mir nix macht, daß auch das eBook bei manchen unverständlichen Ausdrücken nicht wirklich weiterhilft, weil man etliche in meinen Wörterbüchern nicht findet.
    Es war ein Vergnügen, die Geschichte erzählt zu bekommen, auch wenn die "Stimmen" von Annis und Amabel manchmal nicht zu unterscheiden sind.
    Sehr empfehlenswert, wenn man mehr als nur modernes Englisch gut versteht.
