Description
My billionaire dragon mate knows how to pamper a girl!
Rich? Check.
Hot? Check.
Driving my other mates insanely jealous? Check and checkmate!
Xerxes, my dragon mate, has whisked me away to Mexico. He keeps showering me with expensive gifts, breathtaking views, and lavish meals. I’m more of a cheeseburger girl, but I’m not one to complain about food. I just need to learn how to walk in heels without killing myself, again. Been there, done that.
I’ve spent my life trying not to die and failing at it spectacularly. It’s time for me to show them all how tough I really am. Training isn’t easy, but I’m not going to be weak or rely on others to keep me safe. I’m going to protect myself...After I die a few more times, of course. I mean, things change, but do they really?
Things are looking up for me and my mates. Well, everyone except Anzac and Mace. They are working hard to make up for the past, but Imp has it out for them, and her ridiculous pranks are getting out of hand.
What’s coming next, though…isn’t going to be all fun and games. It’s time to pay my parents a visit and get the answers I’m owed. Are they even my parents? Ridgeforce is in shambles and Midnight has put out a contract on our heads. I’m determined, with my mates’ help, to take down every person who was involved with both corrupt agencies. Oh, and I still have a curse to figure out.
It’s time to get my big girl panties on, the cheap ones, not the pretty ones that Xerxes bought me...because they’re probably going to burn anyway.
And what if all my training isn’t enough? What if I keep dying? What if a girl can’t catch a break?
I’m just a girl who’s on fire...
Literally, because I’m a Phoenix.
But Did You Die? is a comedy filled, bully (only in book one), paranormal romance series that includes jaguar shifters, a mysterious underground society, fated mates, and an incredibly clumsy Phoenix. Follow Amaryllis as she discovers who she is and "collects" her soulmates along the way! It is full of humor, adventure, and scenes to entice and thrill you...or to make you unexpectedly snort with laughter. The series will have a HEA...it will just take a little while to get there!

Plot was all over the place but love thecharacters
Alright so the humor was fabulous in book 3 of this series, I really enjoyed the character growth, the breaking passed barriers, and finally giving in to their feelings (for most of the mates at least). I think what was hard for me was that I felt like I missing some scenes after finishing book 2. We left off in book 2 with everyone being freed from the lab and the reunion. We also got to meet Ryls' unknown mate, Xerxes (have no clue if I am spelling that right since I listened to the audiobook haha), and then in book 3 they mention going on dates and being all comfortable together and being lavished on.
Like where did the time go in between? It just felt disjointed for me and I had to go try and look up if there were bonus scenes/extras that weren't part of the audiobooks because it just felt off. I think that kinda set me up to not really connect with the rich and possessive dragon shifter as much as the others. We didnt get to see the kinship develop on the onset. I don't know, I mean the way he was about his nest, about his future and his mate, was great, but I felt like the plot took a hit in this one and some pretty big plotholes were left. Now in terms of the ridiculousness with Ryls and her deaths, we start off strong on this one haha. We also get more confetti, more antics by Imp (the brand on a certain jaguar's booty was hilarious), more bug zapping haha. I am glad Ryls finally stood up to Imp with some of the guys. I also was sad we didnt get a ton of Trevor in this one after we just met him in book 2. We did get more time with some of the shadow (I used to have clear favorites but they are now blurring that line because the 2 annoying ones stepped it up finally). OH AND THAT ENDING!?!?! Ok, no spoilers from me but WHAAAAAAT. OH and pretty much nothing can defeat Ryls. She gets kidnaps, toys with them and is like uh never mind gonna go haha.
Narration was great. I give kudos for Jake's Xerxes' Mexican accent performance on top of Mace's Scottish accent, really good job being able to tackle just about any accent they throw at you. Side characters were good in this one too. I thought the emotional moments with her supposed father and mother, who arent what they seem, was done well in terms of the performances. Storyline was not the smoothest, but the 2 narrators did a great job with the frustration, anguish, regret, etc. in that scene. 5/5 for the narration again!

Is that it?
It seems like there should be a denouement. The ending is a bit abrupt. Maybe one more book of adventures and character development? Otherwise entertaining and fun!

Great story, amazing narration!
The story keep’s getting better and better, and I feel I’ve never heard Jake’s talent for voice work more than this series. So many different accents and inflections, it’s hard to consider all of the male characters are narrated by the same person!

Short and Sexy
This continues right where the book left off and it is such a great listen. I LOVED how it was dual and you had their narrations blended to make the story that much sexier. I think Jake out preformed Bridget in this telling and I felt more from him. The only reason why I gave this performance a 4/5 because his parts seemed like it was drowned out by her...her parts always seemed louder and crisp while his seemed to have me wanting to turn up the volume.
This is the perfect listen on your commute to work and I loved spending my mornings hearing this and cannot wait to listen to how their story unfolds. You get the steam and you get the comedy with Sedona's writing. Round of applause because I loved reading this story and hearing it.

Need more!
I really just cannot get enough of this series. I’m dying for the audiobook of book 4 to release, and I guess I will just have to sit miserably and wait. Yes, I want it that badly. Bridget and Jake narrate things well enough, that waiting for the audio, even for a series I absolutely love, it’s worth the wait. Nothing compared to their narration for me anymore. I’m so excited to see where this series goes, if we see our FMC bond with each of her mates, how she continues to handle the shadow, and most importantly, how her relationship with Trevor progresses. I’m DYING for more Trevor. He’s absolutely my favorite 🤩
