Avis de l'équipe

Editors Select, May 2015 - Years ago, as I was just starting to explore the genre of sci-fi, my best friend (a huge Crichton fan) urged me to read Jurassic Park - the basis, of course, for the blockbuster film franchise. I'm not too ashamed to admit that the movie terrified me as a kid, but in many ways, the novel is even more frightening, as it relies more heavily on the science that makes Jurassic Park possible - and very unstable - adding an unsettling dose of reality to this cautionary tale. I'm so excited to relive this book in audio as it’s released unabridged for the very first time with the incredible Scott Brick narrating - providing the perfect measured, authoritative voice for such a science-heavy listen. And with Jurassic World coming this summer, there's simply no better time to dive in to this classic. - Sam, Audible Editor

Commentaires

"Scott Brick brings a chilling calm to the complex story with his deep, even tone and clear enunciation.... He does a particularly fine portrayal of John Hammond, the creator of the controversial park, giving the character a raspy edge that suits the dark agenda beneath his grandfatherly facade." I avoided this book for decades in fear that my love of the movie might be tarnished

Loved every minute of it, the science reasoning and the depth of research were exactly what I wanted to experience

Classic

I know the movie, now I know the book that inspired it. It is an other view of the story, darker than the Spielberg production. very good !

The only bad part is that the book is slightly catering to an American Christian auditory...

The frog DNA part was unnecessary, considering that chicken can change sex. But it felt like the book was being sensitive towards communities that would not like that idea.

Other than that, it's actually really good, be prepared to have a lot of the ideas from the movies debunked here.

And do people from IT, you're going to love the part about the park systems, especially when you realize the unsaid parts. hint : The lazy code was counting tge absence of' and not presence of', although not explained in the book - no spoilers.

a very enjoyable experience
