    The book was great and the narrator did a fine job at reproducing the diversity of accents of the various characters. But I found it bothersome that his speech was always slurred (nothing to hinder comprehension, tough). What was ok for the many instances of dialogue between drunk people was less than perfect when it came to Robicheaux's inner voice, or the vivid descriptions by the author of the Louisiana landscapes, soundscapes, smellscapes.
