I’m a father who specializes in order, schedules, efficiency, punctuality, and excellence.
Kipling is a son who...um...doesn’t.
So, what happens when a father who thinks his son needs to change to be more like him discovers that it’s actually his own vision that needs changing?
Welcome to the unlikely origin story of Jamaica-Mon.
Jamaica-Mon is the funny, tender, and true story of a father, a son, a neurological challenge, and a pair of very unusual glasses. What begins as an attempt to “fix” a problem becomes something altogether different—a journey into seeing weakness, difference, and even fatherhood from an entirely new perspective.
Part family story, part superhero origin story, and part celebration of the wonderfully unexpected ways our minds can work, Jamaica-Mon is a small book about a surprisingly big idea:
Sometimes the person who needs a new pair of glasses isn’t the person you thought.
