Description

Abbey

When your mate is a Kordolian General who's betrayed the most vicious Empire in the Universe, things tend to get a little heavy from time to time. For the last six months, Tarak's had to divide his time between Earth and space, dealing with various...problems.

But he's home now, and he tells me he's not going anywhere.

That's good news, because our baby's on the way, and I'm dying to get out of this boring, stifling limbo they call the Diplomatic Zone.

Tarak

Now that Earth is surrounded by my warships and the Kordolian Empire has been held at bay, I can give my full, undivided attention to my mate.

Pregnancy has made Abbey even more beautiful, and I am in awe of the growing life she carries inside her.

But I must be ever-vigilant, because the shadow of the Empire lingers, and I must protect what is mine, at all costs.

Contains mature themes.

Great story!

I’ve just fallen in love with this series! This audiobook was about General Tarak and Abby from book one, except now they are expecting a baby! Of course, the Big Bad (as Abby calls him) is in overprotective mode. They decide to go to the Outback of Australia where Abby’s aunt lives to get away from humans who are nosey. But the Empire isn’t done with them and when a hugely pregnant Abby is abducted, the General is on his way to rescue her! Great narration and I love the male narrator’s voice!

Obsessed.

This series is amazing. I’m so in love with the characters. It’s so refreshing to read an adult series written by an intelligent author. I’d give it more than 5 stars if I could!!!

New home and new life

Abbey’s pregnancy has progressed well, but her obstetrician suddenly refers her to an alien specialist, raising suspicion in both Abbey and Tarak. Too cheer her and offer support, Tarak takes Abbey to visit her aunt on her remote Outback station. The visit feels right and they both choose to make it their new home. Unfortunately, Earth and Kordolian interests follow them from Terra Nova; endangering Abbey and the baby.
Good narration. I really like Macie as the voice of Abbey Kendricks, and McLaren as the voice of General Tarak al Akkadian. I do recommend Macie practice her screaming;);)
I’m happy to finally write the review that Carven deserves for the book and series.

Good but...

I found this to be a good story, but also contained some boring parts that I skipped. Would have been a great story if some of the boring stuff was omitted. Narrators are good. Series is off to a good start. On to the next book!

Continuation of Abbey and Tarak’s Story

A series begun with Dark Planet Warriors this is the second book following the first books couple, Abbey and Tarik...it was great revisiting he couple who are deeply in love and expecting the first child between a human and Kordolian alien. Danger is from every angle..what will happen with the baby..
Loved the story and so excited to find this new author and especially excited to experience these in Audible Escape and now have another author to follow.
Great narration which helps tell and communicate the emotions of the characters.

Amazing Part 2 to the ultimate love story

My favorite part is when Abby gave birth. The second part was when she stood up to the doctor trying to get her hands on Abby's baby.

Revisiting Tarak and Abby’s romance already?

I very much enjoyed book 1 in the Dark Planet Warrior series, introducing the silver alien Kordolian warriors and equal parts sci-fi action and romance. That book gave us the pairing of plucky earth gal Abby and dangerous General Tarak Akkadian. I loved it.

Books 2, 4, 5, 6, & 7 give us different Kordolian-human pairs with varying degrees of success.

Books 1, 3, & 8 are essentially a trilogy of the Tarak & Abby arc. I guess I prefer my romance story arc completed in a single, stand alone book because 3 & 8 did nothing for me. Gone was the newness and explosiveness of two strong, sexy folks coming together, instead replaced by babies and sweetness. Blech. When I read sexy alpha alien romance books, I want action, hotness, and camp (cause, aliens, right?)

Here, Abby is pregnant in Australia. There’s some action, some nooky, and some of the other Kordolian warriors... but not enough of the Big Bang that happens at the start of a romance.

I was glad to have McLauren back as the male narrator, but it wasn’t enough to make this move from a solid C grade.

Just ok...

I’m not sure if I will get another book in the series. It’s ’s a little repetitive and I feel like there are a lot of sex scenes used as filler, which are unnecessary. Also, the female lead in this story was aggravatingly gullible and made stupid decisions. It made me feel like I wanted to yell at her haha.

Abbey and Tarak are back

This time we get a dual POV and a duo to narrate. They are on Earth and some Earthlings are up to old ways. This could cause Abbey an d her unborn baby their lives. With all this unfolding we get to travel to the future home for a race looking just to have a chance to live.

I am having a hard time not picking up the next one.
