Everyone can get something out of this book

This book has been recommended to me many times and I am happy I finally took the time to read it. There are some old school beliefs that many may not agree with but nonetheless it is a great book with great ideas. It challenges you to think about every chapter and how you can apply it to your life. I fully believe that every person that reads it will benefit from it in some way or many ways. I especially recommend this book to anyone in a management or retail position.

Outdated

I've hear that "How to win friends & influence people" is the book to help you develop your interpersonal skills and communications.
1 - The book is terribly outdated. The stories, the references, the cultural norms in this book are not relevant for today's business or personal environment.
2 - It's hard to tell where one quote/example ends & the next begins. There is not a lot of original content in this book. It seems to be one quote or example after the next. I didn't feel that any of the quotes of examples added richness to the principles the author was trying to convey
3 - I wish I had just read the written book because the narration was awful.

Good book but very outdated.

This books seems like it would have been great in it’s time, but it is very outdated...sounds like from the 60’s. It is a little long winded and seems to give more examples that an actual content. The entire book could’ve been summed up in one chapter with a list of rules to abide by.

Something to consider in 2019

You have to take this book and adapt it to 2019. Good quotes, though. You can tell it is very dated compared to life in 2019. However, you can glean some useful insights. I found the portion on arguing very helpful.

really good something that society has forgotten and it is refreshing to hear his stories.
