The best of the series!
Would you consider the audio edition of Home Improvement: Undead Edition to be better than the print version?
I think the voice characterizations made the book even more enjoyable

I loved that I didn't have to -that I could have stories for drives, for housework, for other small tasks. I'm completely hooked on this anthology series

Love this series of short stories
I occasionally buy short stories to scope out new authors. but this book and the series it is a part of are addicting. There are one or two that I liked but did not love, but the stories are all good stories and with one or two exceptions really well read.
I bought this one, not because I wanted to find a new author but because of the first set of short stories from these editors. I just bought all the rest I could find and now am waiting for the next set to be released.

Fun
This was a really fun listen. I liked some of the stories better than others, but did not really dislike any of them. This was a perfect October pre-Halloween listen because it had things that go bmp in the night plus the things that make them go bump running away in fear,.

Home Improvement: Undead Edition
It is not easy to write about a multi-authored book. Not all stories is equally good. The mix and compiling is very nice. The reason I like to read these books is that it opens my eyes to new writers (new to me) and will help expand the group of authors I choose to read from. For that this book is excellent. I found 2 new authors with the reading of this book. As for reading from those I already know and like it is just icing on the cake.

Not Your Simple Fixer-Upper
I have to say, this collection runs the gamut from too creepy to like ("Imperative") all the way to Wonderful! My favorite story is "Grey". There's something about a romance that goes beyond the grave. 5 stars.

did not like it
did not like it at all. thought it was really boring and had really nothing to do with the Sookie stackhouse books except for the one story. Overall I hated it.

Zu gruselig
Ich hab dies Buch wegen Patricia Briggs gewählt, welche auch eine sehr nette Geschichte hat.
Aber der Rest ist mir zu gruselig
Ich hab es geschafft zu hören bis zu einer entspannten Unterhaltung zweier Personen während eine dritte Person lebendig eingemauert wird damit die Renovierung gut wird

Übernatürliche Wesen & die Tücken des Renovierens
Ein Buch über Heimwerker-Arbeiten und Hausrenovierungen würde ich mir normalerweise niemals kaufen — es sei denn, es handelt sich um originelle Urban Fantasy wie bei dieser Anthologie.
Insgesamt war ich - wie bereits bei “Werwölfe zu Weihnachten” - sehr angetan, dass die Qualität der Geschichten überwiegend recht ansprechend war. Natürlich haben mir persönlich nicht alle Beiträge gefallen, “Home Improvement: Undead Edition” hat mir jedoch in seiner Gesamtheit echt Spaß gemacht - was auch an der gelungenen Lesung durch Amanda Ronconi gelegen haben könnte. onconi teilt sich die Lesung der Geschichten auf mit einem Kollegen. Während die Leistung des männlichen Sprechers in Ordnung geht, ist Ronconi eine Wucht: Ihr gelingt es nicht nur, in die Haut der jeweiligen Protagonistinnen zu schlüpfen und mal schlagfertig, mal nachdenklich zu wirken, sondern sie trifft vor allem den jeweiligen Ton der durchaus sehr unterschiedlichen Beiträge. Da macht das Zuhören doppelt Spaß!
Die einzelnen Geschichten haben in der Hörbuchversion eine Laufzeit von jeweils ca. 1 Stunde - eine nette Länge, wenn man mal zwischendurch etwas hören will und keine Lust auf ein ganzes Hörbuch hat. Allesamt sind sie Urban Fantasy-Geschichten, in denen Renovierungen am Eigenheim eine Rolle spielen. Unter den vertretenen Teilnehmern befinden sich auch namhafte Größen wie Patricia Briggs, Melissa Marr, Simon R. Green und Seanan McGuire. Auch Herausgeberin Charlainne Harris selbst hat eine Sookie Stackhouse-Geschichte beigesteuert.
Von den 14 Geschichten empfand ich acht als gut, sehr gut oder sogar extrem gut und bietet somit für eine Anthologie eine sehr gute Ausbeute. Näheres zu den einzelnen Geschichten findet ihr bei Interesse im Rahmen meiner ausführlichen Rezension auf meiner Website:
