    Description

New stand-alone from NYT best-selling author Kaylee Ryan.

I’m over this year, and I’m over relationships. I’ve learned the only person you can count on in life is yourself. Moving forward, I’m living for me. Working toward standing on my own two feet, that’s my goal. Funny how meeting him changed my path.

It’s been years since I’ve been back in this small town of West Virginia for more than a day or two. Spending time here brings back a lot of fond memories. When I stopped by an old friend’s bar, I was expecting to grab a drink and catch up. What I didn’t expect was her.

We share an undeniable attraction, but we continue to fight it. Until one night in Vegas changes everything.

I really liked this book!! The couple is mature, their situation is not anything I haven't read before but I really loved the connection and chemistry between them. This book left me smiling at the end with a perfect HEA.

    Narration was great!!

Maxine Mitchell makes a repetitive story decent

All hail Maxine Mitchell. She has become one of my favorite narrators. Without her I couldn’t have finished the book. The heroine is annoying, so is the grandfather that holds the worlds longest grudge. So you grandson stopped coming over, sucks but dropped everything to come see you when you’re sick. And the heroine. The whole woe is me, I’m an orphan is over done. I found myself getting so irritated by her whiny self-deprecating narrative. Finally, the story is so repetitive. The same line is used over and over and over and over and over again. This book should be half the length. My ultimate vote, skip it.

    Hey....

I loved this! The narration was perfection. The characters wonderfully developed and totally knowable! Rhett 3 was swoon-worthy! Everyone who mattered was special.

    Hot as hell, nothing crass.

    Totally worth the credit!

A side note... the editor/writer/proofreader failed catching a few mistakes. If there is SO much snow that UTV’s (no, not atv’s) are used to go “sled riding” than you can’t turn around and take the UTV out to the pond to go skating...., too much snow! And when you were gone Thursday night and Friday night and got home Saturday you don’t then tell your friend the story about Saturday night, it was Friday night. SO, if little things like these don’t bother you to distraction you will find NOTHING to complain about with this highly enjoyable tale.

    Had to put it down.

Woman falls for man who’s demeanor and words are condescending towards her in every way possible. I don’t get it.

loved it just as much in audio as I did in print

great narration. loved the dual POV. Both performers do a great job of really expressing the emotion in the scenes while reading. I'm always hesitant of audiobooks because you never know how the narration with turn out but this one was wonderful.

    I loved this story!

I thought the story was wonderful! I also thought Teddy Hamilton did his usual excellent job as narrator. Unfortunately, the female narrator did her usual overly emotional performance that she always does with the female characters, no matter which of her names she uses. She does a much better job with the male characters. She has a lovely voice but the over-the-top emotional drama she continually inserts is distracting and, in my opinion, very annoying. I loved the story though!

I have a new fav romance author. The characters were so beautiful and I loved the story. Just brought heat without the cringe.

    Entertaining

Saylor really had bad cards dealt to her all her life. The worst blow came when she moved to West Virginia to live with her boyfriend only to be told he'd been cheating on her for 6 months.
Her luck changed when she met Molly and Jake who ran the local bar and hired her on the spot. What she wasn't expecting was Wiskey. She called him that because of his eye's and what he ordered that night. She had no clue that he was a Baxter, part of a family who owned the local distillery.
He pursued her relentlessly and she tries to not give in, but what she finds with this group is the family she never dreamed of having.
This love story is beautifully written and told. Tedfy Hamilton and Maxine Mitchell did a wonderful job with the performance of the characters.

    Enthusiastic ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ from me!

I adored these characters. And the narrators did a wonderful job portraying them. Can't wait to read/listen to more from this author.
