Isobelle Carmody
A haunting fable from the acclaimed author of The Gathering and The Red Wind. One wakeful night in the aftermath of his mother’s death, Jack enters a land devoid of color or scent. Here he meets the tragic laughing beast and Alice, a strange girl with a secret. Will Jack escape before the terrifying wolvers find him? Or is he destined to be trapped in the Greylands forever? Only the cats know....

Reviews
" Greylands is deeply satisfying from both aesthetic and psychological perspectives. Isobelle Carmody excels in creating this imaginary world ... The real and imaginary worlds coalesce perfectly in the dramatic conclusion." (Lyn Linning - Magpies Magazine)
"An unforgettable metaphor for grief.... One of the strengths of the story is its recognition of children's emotions...." (Lian Hearn)
"[Carmody] has a lot of fun with the taxonomy of her worlds, the creatures living within them, and the powers they hold." (Sophie Masson)
