Narrated by:
Lori is lucky. Her obsession, Edmund Cox, is also her penpal. While most people don’t realize what an honor that is, Lori will do anything to make sure he keeps writing her back.
Edmund is a serial killer, convicted of butchering more than twenty women, and Lori is infatuated with him. So when he asks her to retrieve a key from his cabin in the woods and deliver it to the mysterious River Man, she accepts. With her sister in tow, Lori travels to the small town home of her beloved.
But quickly the trip becomes a surreal nightmare that digs up Lori’s personal demons, the very ones that she feels bonds her to Edmund. Soon she will learn that The River Man exists somewhere between fact and folklore, and that he’s certainly not human...at least, not anymore.
