Grating voices

The story itself was fine - not great, not horrible, just ok. The voice work was soooo bad. The voice for the child was so nerve grating and the female's voice was odd and offputting.

Poor Plot and Failed Performance

implausplausible storyline and mediocre performance = bad bad bad.

nanny w/tainbow hair... seriously? who's a journalist in her late 20's. come on.

Audio ruins the storyline :(

I really wish I had ordered this as a paperback or kindle edition. It ruined the story for me to listen to the two different voices. Especially when it came to the different personalities. The guy just couldn’t capture Marin’s personality as he was reading her parts. They sounded just like his wife’s parts. I just really didn’t like it. The story was “okay” but really really needs work. The main focus was on the children when it should have been on the Marin & Grey. So when it came time for the romance, it just wasn’t there. I have 3 hours left of the book and I’m not finishing it.

DNF

It started okay and then just like that, he kisses her one day and then they are dirty talking already. Did I miss a chapter or two about the changes in their feelings which could explain the kiss from nowhere? The MCS early couple scenes felt so matter-of-fact it felt blah. So I DNF.

Didn’t feel like romance genre

This story had potential but there were too much focus on the children than romance. I really wanted to connect with the main characters but it came slow and by the end, I still didn’t feel it. Narrators were good. Although female voice was older than 25 years old. I gave 4 for performance because of Noah. I love his voice.

I enjoyed it

The female narrator wasn’t great but all the rest was. Story, characters etc. I had read one book out of order not realising it was a series …yet they can be read independently.

OMG I can’t!

Not good. It’s written like a middle schooler did this. The dialog is ridiculous. The FMC called her boss (MMC) an idiot, his parenting pathetic, and she wants to leave every time the mmc isn’t a stellar parent. The FMC is a shrew most of the time - and an absolute jerk to the mmc. Then when they finally do start being nice to each other is out of the blue. Ridiculous.

Seriously I can’t. The narrators are ok, but not great. The female narrator reads like the middle schooler-like dialog. I can’t finish.

Good natured, and sexy

This is a pretty wholesome book. I mean there’s definitely steamy and sexy scenes but the bigger picture is what it’s like to learn to love again after a massive betrayal with kids involved. For people who enjoy the extreme plot twists and fights this isn’t the book for you but if you like wholesome good natured writing that still tantalizes in the sexy department, it’s very much an awesome listen.
Personally, I like PNR best, enemy to lovers tropes and battles with bloodshed but in between the heavy I like to break it up with some light hearted literature (cleanse the palate so to speak). This book did an awesome job. The MMC is a dr who has been jaded and left to raise his kids as a single dad and the FMC is a younger woman that left her high profile journalism job after her employer asked her to do something unethical. After leaving, she is heartbroken by her fiancé and her best friend. So, both characters are learning to love again and the lengths they’re willing to go to in order to make it work. And Maryn (sp?) is so feisty she definitely gives the good doctor a run for his money! Absolutely adorable and I love this couple together!
