Fake dating her best friend was supposed to save her farm, not risk her heart.
Winning the Moonlit Horse Pulls would give Ivie Gilbert the money she desperately needs to save the family farm. But there's just one problem. The event is open to couples only and Ivie is very much single. So, she enters with the first name she thinks of, Jack Bennett. Now, she just has to convince her childhood best friend to agree to her impulsive scheme without too much of a fight.
Pretending to be hers was only meant to give him time to heal, not a reason to fall in love.
Jack returns home from the Air Force just in time for the holidays, and is bewildered when his mom immediately congratulates him on his serious relationship with Ivie. But once he discovers the truth behind her lie, he agrees to play along, believing it holds benefits for him as well. It keeps his family happy, saves him from unwanted setups, and provides a distraction from the reason he's home and can no longer fly.
But somewhere between family dinners and stolen moments in the barn, being a couple begins to feel all too real, and suddenly neither one is sure they can go on pretending.
With everything Ivie loves on the line and Jack unsure where his future lies, can their relationship survive what comes next?
