    Description

Needing a change of scene, Griffin Burke moves from Brisbane to Coolum Beach to start a new job. The beautiful white sand, aqua-colored ocean, blue skies, and summer breezes are everything he longs for. What he finds is a mud-covered dog, lost and hungry, with a name tag and a phone number.

Dane Hughes is stuck in Surfers Paradise at a week-long work conference when he gets a phone call from his distraught mother. His dog, his fur baby, Wicket, has run away. Unable to leave and feeling helpless and miserable, he gets a text from a guy. "I think I found your dog..."

Griffin and Dane start talking, and Griffin agrees to look after Wicket until Dane can collect him. With a few days left before his new job starts, Griffin takes Wicket on some coastal adventures and sends Dane photos of their fun, and so the start of something new and kind of wonderful begins.

Griffin might have moved to Coolum in search of a new life, but what he finds is so much more. What he gets to keep just might take some four-legged help.

    Contains mature themes.

    Adorable, sweet and perfect!

Finders Keepers is the epitome of a cutesy and fluffy book. Though It doesn’t feel shallow or simple. It’s straightforward without any added drama. It’s also really perfect from beginning to end.

Finders Keepers is a love story through and through. The love between a man and his dog. The love between two men and the love they have for the new shared dog. The friendship with Griffin’s seventy-something landlady and her lover K, and I have to say I’m a huge fan of those two, hilarious doesn’t begin to cover it.

If there is a better (or at least cuter) meet cute than the one between Dane and Griffin you have to look pretty hard. I mean the perfect man finds and rescues your perfect runaway furbaby, and spoils said furbaby rotten. Things don’t get better than that. Ever since that first phone call where Griffin tells Dane he found Wicket safe and sound, well dirty and tired but safe, there was this instant connection between them, the men and their dog. Because let’s face it Wicket just found himself another human to wrap around his little paw. And I dare any listener not to become equally huge fans of his. Dane ad Griffin made sense, they had this innate understanding of each other. They were inevitable. I think that’s one of the reasons why their relationship didn’t have this insta-love vibe, because it wasn’t. They were just meant to be.

Just like Joel Leslie was meant to narrate this wonderful book. As always he did a fantastic job bringing this story and these characters to life. He does a wonderful Aussie accent and is able to keep it up though out. I love a good Aussie accent so it’s always a treat listening to his narrations.

Leslie is a great voice actor. I genuinely felt Danes distress when Wicket was missing, his desperation to go out searching for his furbaby and best friend. I wanted to be out there looking, and I’m not only across the world, but feeling the need to look for a missing dog – a fictional missing dog. But that’s the draw of Wicket – among other things 

I loved how Leslie portrayed Bernice and K. It was spot on. These two surfer hippies that loved their special brownies were just awesome. I could see them sitting there in the backyard, smoking pot and asking our two guys some fairly intimate questions. They were a wonderful addition to the story. I loved every single moment spent with them. They were colorful and fun – and Leslie gave them voices, life and sass.

Finders Keepers is a cutesy story about two men falling in love over a runaway dog, some special brownies and surfer hipsters. It’s a must read for all dog lovers and anyone looking for a fun summer read. It’s a book that will warmth your heart and soul.

    Found it and keeping it

A delightfully sweet story with a wonderful narrator, whose acting is spot on, and a little ball of fluff that ends up helping to bring love to everyone he encounters. I loved all the characters in this story, especially Berniece and Kay, they were such a hoot. The romance is sweet and steamy. It’s a great read if you’re looking for something light and fun.

    Nr Walker does it again.

some authors have so many books that the characters start to blend into each other, but not this author. Nr Walker delivers with a beautiful hea that makes you feel great, makes you laugh and can bring the heat in the most delicious way. Joel Leslie took the story from great to another level with his narration. I love when he adds his voice. he doesn't just read the book but puts himself into the characters and gives them more dimensions. Nr Walker, thank you for Dane and Griffins story. and of course the real star Wicket!

    Sweet story

This was a sweet, no angst, insta-love story. Had some good sexy times. Overall very happy with this book. Joel Leslie's narration was amazing. His accents are on point.

    Fantastic Book

So I was really digging when I found this book and it was great. I’m not sure why it never popped up on my recommendations. The book is funny, well-written, low-angst (which I prefer), neither of the main characters do anything stupid & there are no miscommunications with just right amount of steamy parts. Plus, Joel Leslie does an excellent job as usual. I will definitely be reading more of this author. I have read the first in their Red Dirt series, but I thought this book was way better than it. I borrowed this through audible escape, but I feel like it’s worth a credit.

    Excellent story!

Was on the fence about buying this, but glad that I did. A great stranger to lover story without all the angst. Well written story of how two strangers navigate the beginnings of a relationship and when is the right time to tell someone you love them.

Meet Cute with a Happy Ending

Dual POV, low angst, super sexy, meet cute romance with some humor, unforgettable characters, and a very happy ending.

Joel Leslie proves once again how versatile and talented he is with numerous character voices ranging from their 20's to 80's. I don't know how he does it without breaking his voice, but it's incredible and worth the listen just for Leslie, and the bonus is the book's really good too.

Really, Finders Keepers is just a super sweet, super cute, low angst romance with the bonus of a cute dog.

I loved Bernice and K, I loved how Dane and Griffin try to go slow, but really can’t help wanting to be with each other, but mostly I love how N.R. Walker writes about normal people and situations, and how she takes every day living and shows how romance and love can be found in anything.

Finders Keepers is a cute story with some pretty hot sex and terrific narration. Recommended!

Very sweet story and fantastic narration

So freaking cute 😍 but warning there is a very offensive term used three times in chapter 15 to describe disabled people that is enraging. It's unfortunate the author couldn't find a better way of saying it instead of insulting an entire population. It kind of put a damper on the ending for me but regardless I didn't let it affect my rating. The book was otherwise perfect.

Joel Leslie did a fantastic job.

    Cheesy, but sweet

This is a romance story in the most traditional, basic sense of it. Literally the only difference to the cheesy romance booklets I read by the dozen in my teenage years is that it's a romance story between two men. It's very, very sweet, and the characters are very likeable, but be aware that this really is nothing more than two people with an adventurous meet-cute involving a small fluffy dog prone to running away finding each other attractive and thus, dating. It's a dating story. It feels like the sort of story a couple in your friend group might tell while laughing on summer evenings sitting together, about how they met. Nothing about this is unrealistic, it is exactly what it promised to be, but it does have these typical awkward moments I dislike so intently about popular romance movies. If that's what you're looking for, great! Go for it! I definitely like the story, but likely won't listen to it again. It's well done over all and very sweet, but the whole process until they actually start dating felt a little exhausting to me. Again, nothing bad, just my personal preferences. It still gets five stars because it's well rounded and exactly what it promised to be.
