Description

Winner of the Specsavers Autobiography/Biography Book of the Year 2018.

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Everything I Know About Love, written and read by Dolly Alderton. A spot-on, wildly funny and sometimes heartbreaking book about growing up, growing older and navigating all kinds of love along the way.

When it comes to the trials and triumphs of becoming a grown-up, journalist and former Sunday Times dating columnist Dolly Alderton has seen and tried it all. In her memoir, she vividly recounts falling in love, wrestling with self-sabotage, finding a job, throwing a socially disastrous Rod Stewart-themed house party, getting drunk, getting dumped, realising that Ivan from the corner shop is the only man you've ever been able to rely on, and finding that that your mates are always there at the end of every messy night out.

It's an audiobook about bad dates, good friends and - above all else - recognising that you and you alone are enough. Glittering with wit and insight, heart and humour, Dolly Alderton's powerful debut weaves together personal stories, satirical observations, a series of lists, recipes and other vignettes that will strike a chord of recognition with women of every age - while making you laugh until you fall over. Everything I Know About Love is about the struggles of early adulthood in all its grubby, hopeful uncertainty.

Heartwarmingly familiar

Words can’t express how much I loved this book. I felt myself slink back into my memories for not too dissimilar stories, and finding solace in Dolly’s beautifully writer words. From laughter, to cringing I loved every single chapter of this.

Dolly hits the nail on the head and encapsulates life as a millennial perfectly. The book is very well read, and relaxing to listen to, I really enjoyed it!

If you remember MSN you will relate

This fabulous book is more than just about MSN. Probably every person can find it's own point to relate to because of the talent of the author to self reflect and describe incredibly precisely her personal process of growing up. I wouldn't be lying to say listening to this book has probably speeded up my own processes a little bit. Thanks for being brutally honest and sharing the circumstances and people of your life <3
