Description

With the War treaty signed, the Galactic Fleet is now on permanent stand down. But a treaty doesn't mean an end to the violence, corruption, piracy, or tyranny in the galaxy. The Galactic Fleet's solution is a crack team of Special Ops Marines: Drop Team Zero.

Made up of the absolute fighting best from humans, alien races, hybrids, and even AI androids, Drop Team Zero is called on to handle the worst of the worst, missions that others would tag as pure suicide. But when Drop Team Zero arrives, the only threat of suicide is for the ones that stand in their way.

Excellent Series Start

This book was action packed and an enjoyable listen. The narration was perfect with each character having a well defined voice and speech pattern. The book ends with few questions answered and many more posed.

Awesome New Universe

This audiobook was a great start to what will hopefully be a great series. The universe the author created was fascinating and I couldn't help thinking of Star Wars and other sci-fi stories with many different alien races.
The book follows an elite group of mixed soldiers who encounter more than they bargained for on a mission. I thought the story was great and the characters seemed real. I was really drawn in and couldn't stop listening.

I thought the narrator did a really great job with tone, pace, and all of the different characters.

I requested and received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, publisher, or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I was NOT required to write a positive review and this reflects my honest opinion of the work.

Good story

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Not a waste of time when you're listening to a well written story and it is narrated really well also.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The main character because of how he leads the team.

He tells the story with inflection in his voice and keeps the characters voices matched to the correct character

like Pandora with less blue... kinda

I received this book free of charge for an honest review. I enjoyed it, kinda what you'd expect from a research trip as opposed to a military conquest I'm sure wed all feel like the natives if another species came into contact with us.

Drop Team Zero

Any additional comments?

3.5 stars

Good start to a series. Another entertaining, humorous, engaging and enjoyable story from Jake Bible. The story hits the ground running and just keeps going.

Really enjoy the combination of Jake Bible and Andrew Wehrlen. As soon as I see that combination I know I'm about to be drawn into an alternate universe and be thoroughly entertained no matter what the story is.

The Galaxy is a treacherous place. Drop Team Zero is who you want when you need a job done. Sent on a mission to rescue a councilors son they soon realize the mission is not what they thought it was. Even though they are the best at what they do even Drop Team Zero can encounter a situation that they are not prepared for.

Large cast of creative and unusual characters. Curious to see how his worlds or characters are going to intersect. Or if they will at all. I hope they do. That would be one action packed book.

This is the first book of the series and it leaves off with the next mission for Drop Team Zero. Looking forward to it.

Andrew B. Wehrlen does a fantastic job with the narration once again. Nice voice. Easy to listen to for long periods of time. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. Great tone and delivery for the sarcasm and humor. Really good character voices, all of them. He pulls you into the story and brings it and the characters to life through his narration. Very enjoyable

A pretty good sci-fi/space story

What did you love best about Drop Team Zero?

I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator. The action is pretty good, keeping you interested when things seem to slow down. The narrator does a good job on giving each character a unique voice, hard to do when aliens are involved. It was nice to see a story where the good guys don't always win (though they do win more than lose) and there is a good mix of aliens, not just mostly humans.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Drop Team Zero?

I'm not sure if I found any of the moments memorable but they were good. The dialogue and actions of some of the characters really do seem like something a person would do (the politicians ignoring the father of the boy, trying to decide on how they're going to react to things for example). Everyone, even the aliens, seems to react and talk in a believable way.

Have you listened to any of Andrew B. Wehrlen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't listened to Mr. Wehrlen's work before but his voice and tone worked well with this story. He does a good job keeping your interest going during the slow times, speeding things up when something important, action-oriented, is going on. I wouldn't mind hearing some of the other books he has.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

While I don't always like cliffhangers in my books, I'm interested enough in the story to want to read/listen to the next book. I'm hoping it's as good as this one.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this story and Mr. Wehrlen does a very good job in narrating the story. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Great action sci-fi

I have a few other books by Jake Bible and have yet to find one I didn't love. I really enjoy his writing style and sense of humor. I did really enjoy this book, but there is a lot to keep track of at first. It's a bit overwhelming. Had to listen to it twice. Great action sci-fi.

Andrew Wehrlen is a wonderful narrator. I always enjoy his books.

Suspension of disbelief

I had to stop listening, not because of the narrative, he is One Off the redeeming qualites of this production.

The problem is that the author is not consistent in his own universe and this is a problem because that means my suspension of disbelief never comes in to play, which means it gets jarring as fuck.

That is also a thing that is bullshit and that is when the protagonist swears they say thing like "snafu" and "shoot". It is almost as if this book is written by someone that is religious and is forbidden to swear and course.

Also the author DO not know His physics.

Don't waste your credits biuy another book.

A sci-fi universe to rival star wars

Author and narrator combine to bring you into another facet of an ever expanding universe that rivals Star Wars in depth of races, characters, tech and more. I find the universe and characters to be a more edgy modernized group that really brings you in and keeps you there as the author reveals more and more to you each time you get a new story. What direction is the universe heading? Will the various groups and characters meet up for one amazing conclusive culmination of the various story lines
Or will they drift through their own sections of the universe? I don't know but I sure am enjoying the time and can't wait for the next bit. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.
