    Horrible narration

    the content is pretty good but is made nearly unusable by the narrator. the continuous monotone is made even more frustrating by the constant referencing. I understand it can be useful for some, but one the goal is to consume information it's solely a hindrance.

    I can't wait to finish this book!

    I was hesitant to start, I am not a book person and I already know a lot on the subject, however, a few pages in I already learned something new. If you can apply yourself to listening and living this book you will find great tips and examples on how to deal with distressing situations. I'm not even halfway through but I've recorded over 100 new coping skills I didn't have before. the book is interactive which is the most helpful part, asking you to be creative with how you care for yourself. ten out of ten, I can't wait to finish this book!

    not what i expected, but worth it.

    I felt that the first half of the book the writer was more concerned with providing evidence that DBT was not psuedo science and that it is actually 'legit' therapy. All the citations and references take you out of the listening experience. latter half of the book, you get in to the nuts and bolts of what and how it all works. I enjoyed it, but the the beginning show jump you right into the practice of it and latter get into the field studies.

    This audio book changed my life.

    This audio book changed my life. I never thought I'd get my emotions under control, but this book gave me the tools I needed. I will be forever grateful to the authors.

    I can do it alone and with my therapist.

    I struggle with Borderline Personality Disorder as well as chronic pain, depression, anxiety, and a couple of other chronic health conditions. This has given me a lot of great tools in order to cope. It is very much a learning journey and I feel safe and empowered by this book. I can pick it up and put it down at any time. I can learn things in bite sizes. I can do it alone and with my therapist.

    Great book,I finished it in one day!

    This is an amazing edition to support recovery from anxiety, depression, and complex PTSD. I just love this audio book.

    Clearest and concise explanation of DBT out there

    Having been a DBT therapist for over 10 years, I have been waiting for this book! This book is the clearest and concise explanation of DBT out there and it is head and shoulders above Linehan's in terms of clarity and listenability. I will have all of the people I supervise get it too. Nicely done!

    Helps to improve their emotional well being

    I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to improve their emotional well being, relationships, communication skills, emotional intelligence, mindfulness, ability to function more successfully by learning how to use the tools and skills discussed.

    Among the books this is the most transparent

    I am struggling to get some momentum going in therapy (as a "client"). I'm doing a lot better with actual emotion regulation, so I'm happy about that, but I'm frustrated with my slow movement toward mastery of the concepts. Among the books I've tried so far, this is the most comprehensive, terse, engaging, transparent.
