Amos Carver is just enjoying some R&R when people try to murder him in his sleep.
The key word is try. Because Carver doesn't let his guard down. Not even when he's living the tranquil life in a beach house.
It turns out these people might have kidnapped or killed a former squad mate of his. A man named Cliff Barrows. And Carver wants to know why. More than that, he wants to teach them a lesson.
Barrows saved Carver on more than one occasion. That means Carver owes him. Owes him big time. And even if he didn't, Carver still adheres to a simple code. Leave no brother behind.
Carver knows the people after him are just thugs. Small pieces in a bigger puzzle. So, he embarks on a cross-country journey to find out the truth. To find out what Barrows was doing. To find out where Barrows went. And to find out if Barrows was still alive.
But the people behind his disappearance might be more dangerous than Carver anticipated. They might be part of a larger group. A group with friends in all the right places. And if Carver isn't careful, he might end up like Barrows.
