Description
Are you ready for the end? An ancient tomb is unearthed live on cable TV after months of hype. It's billed as the archeological equivalent of Shark Week. The actual footage takes a turn no one ever expected. Those minutes of footage will be combed over by governments worldwide seeking to understand what horror came out of that tomb.
They watched the news for weeks as an infection spread quickly across the globe. The videos posted online of people ripping into each other like cannibals on PCP were unreal. The support from the authorities was a joke. No one had a plan in place for this. At least not a plan that involved saving everyone....
Join a tight knit family of outcasts who'll do anything for one another as they battle their way through this freak show. A reality where might makes right and the only thing worse than running out of food and water is running out of ammunition.

great pandemic/zombie/vampire story. New twist!
Loved this! Mom, Dad & 3 adopted teenagers hunker down during a pandemic. This is no ordinary virus though. it's an ancient spore from a newly opened tomb (won't give it way but more than just spores). The world goes crazy, the infected or those they infect hide during the day & run at night! This is the family's struggle. I own over 3k books & at least 2k of those are apocalypse/horror. This is one of the better ones!!!

Not that good...
Really cliché. Ex military dad trained his kids to shoot just like most zombie novels out there. Nothing about this novel is original, surprising and is pretty boring.
A character death is so bland and does not inspire any sadness since the characters are so flat.
Also not a found family, adoptive family. Big difference.

Refreshing
I enjoyed this book. I've been binging apocalyptic books for awhile and some of them are difficult to get through. This one wasn't. Definitely invested after the first book i just wish Audible had the rest of the series here.

Slow start but pretty solid
The start was slow and I considered returning but I'm glad I kept listening. Honestly, it's only the last few chapters of the book that really get intriguing but mildly entertaining throughout.
Unfortunately the second book isn't available on audible but I'll be continuing with Kindle since I got pretty sucked in at the end.
It's worth the credit if you're patient enough for a slow burn type of story. I find myself zoning out a bit during the middle and kept having to rewind segments so account for that in listening time.
The narrator is ok. No RC Bray but not annoying. Passible narration.

Crawl into this Great Zombie Book
Crawlerz is a gem and a great find for fans of indy horror. Merritt takes the standard zompoc storyline and turns it up to 11 with excellent character development, good research and a narrative that is both believable and terrifying. The main characters (a family) watch the world slowly unravel around them as the undead plague spread across the globe. The zombies come in several varieties (fast & mean and faster & meaner) so when they finally arrive in the family's quiet suburb its not long before the things are eating their way through the neighborhood. They try to stand and fight but quickly realize that will not work, so they cut and run but there is nowhere to go and they end up running for their lives among the chaos and mayhem of the dying world. Merritt is a master story teller. I listened to the Audible version and Elliott Bales provides the perfect voice for the narration. The only complaint I have is that only book #1 is available on Audible! I hope book 2 is up soon!

Not what II thought, but still a zombie story
I thought this was going to be fast-paced and set mostly around the archeologists that opened the pyramid tombs; not a family’s struggle to find safety.
