For Dr. Stephanie Harris Mercado, can’t and quit are words with very little meaning. After overcoming a neglected and abusive childhood, she became the first college graduate in her family and a respected physician assistant. This was accomplished as a single parent raising a daughter whom she inspired to pursue her goals and dreams in the US Army and become an honorable police officer. Stephanie is not stopping and has become a published scholar and poet. She published a scholarly article in the Journal of the American Academy of PAs, and multiple poems with Wingless Dreamer and Poet’s Choice. She writes poetry based on life’s experiences, everyday life stories and reactions of an introverted poet. There really is not a happy ending to the poetry as her reactions to things are comedically irrational. When seeking success, some wonder why? Stephanie wonders what’s next!
