Sounds cliche but what an ENDING!!!

Great book that will have you needing to know what happens next! I finished this book in one day because I needed to know Alex's decision. Now I am dying for the sequel!

realistic and relatable

Not 2 words u would except from a end of the world book. the main character has anxiety like I do. never have I read a story that describes how that feels, how it affects ur family and how that tiny little pill gives u a bit of hope. this book throws in so many things I have never read before. so many twists and turns!! I can't WAIT for book two. please give this book a chance, it's really great!!!!

Worth a credit

It took me a bit to get into this, the protagonist's anxiety issues are very well done, to the point that it can get off-putting after being immersed in it. The protagonist wasn't my favorite but I *understood* where she was coming from. She's a teenager and I related to her, but I think the audiobook format took me a little too far into the protagonist's headspace. I liked the supporting characters more than the self-obsessed main character but there was enough emotional growth by the end for me to start rooting for her.

The primary reason I rated this so highly is the world-building. I had to know what happened. The question and answer bits were great, the holograms answered exactly the way a politician would. Through the vertex waits Utopia, of course it does. I don't usually enjoy politics in my reading (especially audiobooks) but I want to know everything about this world. The premise is great and by the last chapter, well, I wished she had made a different choice just because I want to see it play out on all sides.

The choice *insert 'should I stay or should I go' lyrics here* that everyone has to make was very well-illustrated with the pros and cons of both. I don't know what my own choice would be and the fact that this is still resonating with me means it's definitely worth a read again.

The ultimate leap of faith

Wow, for the last hour or so I was listening with my jaw dropped for sure. Too bad my job got in the way of this one because this is a story that you want to finish all in one sitting. It is filled with satire, pop-culture references and a family dynamic that is all too true. The main character, well you love to hate her sometimes but overall she is extremely likable. I found myself screaming at her at some points and others feeling sorry for her. We have the main character, the rebellious best friend and the always level headed boyfriend and the trio does not disappoint. The premise was so intriguing and down right awesome. This one is filled with twists and turns and definitely will keep you guessing until the final seconds. The narration was done fabulously. The characters voices, tone and urgency was easily heard and steady throughout the book. I thought the parts where our main character was going through all the worst things that could happen was done really realistically. We got romance, lots of coming of age, more panic than you will know what to do with and some crazy hologram vortexes or vertexes... whichever so what is not to like. If that is not enough there is a comet too, like seriously talk about a bad day. You will definitely enjoy this one, so read it already! One more thing, great shout out to my boys the Men in Black too, galaxy defenders, lol.

Surprisingly good and thought provoking.

Yes, because it really makes the reader think about the choices they would make, it makes it very personal.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Consider?

The last few chapters where I am yelling at Alex for being an idiot, but turns out maybe she wasn't. It caught me off guard, and I like when a story can do that.

What about Erin Spencer’s performance did you like?

Very good narrator. Easy to listen to.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, it made me think and consider the entire time, what would I do if faced with the same choice: leave my planet and everything I know and love or stay and pray the world isn't destroyed.

This is one of the most amazing books I've read in YA SciFi and I cannot WAIT for the sequel. I absolutely cannot wait.

it's okay

I liked the book however there are triggers for some. The main character has Generalized Anxiety Disorder and she uses her pills as her negative coping skill but she does start to utilize postive coping skills once she starts to see a therapist. There was some suicidal ideations. The story did drag some but I stuck with it. It got good the last few chapters and I'm intrigued about the next book. The narrator did a great job. There is less focus on the Halos and more focus on the main character, her friends and family decisions they must make.

WORST MAIN CHARACTER

Good narration, good story line, horrible main character. I am not even done yet but I loathe this character. She is self centered and self absorbed. It all detracts from the story.

Such a good book!

Loved this book and the series. I enjoyed listening to these and found myself enthralled.

Could only get through 2 hours, and that was hard. Getting my money back for sure.
