Histoire
Peter Lynch, one of the most successful investors of all time, shows you how to use what you already know to make money in the market. You'll discover why smart money is not so smart - and why you may be a better stock picker than the pros, how to follow your hunches and back them up with facts, how to disregard reports on the economy and pick your own time to buy and sell, and how to determine which types of stocks are right for you. Lynch is the former manager of the $9 billion Fidelity Magellan Fund, where he earned investors a $190,000 return on a $10,000 investment.

Histoire
In The Outsiders, you'll learn the traits and methods striking for their consistency and relentless rationality that helped these unique leaders achieve such exceptional performance. Humble, unassuming, and often frugal, these "outsiders" shunned Wall Street and the press, and shied away from the hottest new management trends. Instead, they shared specific traits that put them and the companies they led on winning trajectories: a laser-sharp focus on per share value as opposed to earnings or sales growth; an exceptional talent for allocating capital and human resources; and the belief that cash flow, not reported earnings, determines a company's long-term value.

Many investors, including some with substantial portfolios, have only the sketchiest idea of how the stock market works. The reason, say Lynch and Rothchild, is that the basics of investing aren't taught in school. At a time when individuals have to make important decisions about saving for college and 401(k) retirement funds, this failure to provide a basic education in investing can have tragic consequences.

Description
Widely respected and admired, Philip Fisher is among the most influential investors of all time. His investment philosophies, introduced almost 40 years ago, are not only studied and applied by today's financiers and investors, but are also regarded by many as gospel. This book is invaluable for investors and has been since it was first published in 1958. This updated edition retains the investment wisdom of the original edition and includes the perspectives of the author's son Ken Fisher, an investment guru in his own right, in an expanded preface and introduction.

Huge Drag
Purpose of reading this book is so obvious but a lot of time is spent on bragging about individuals. No offense but that should be part of biographies & not for someone who wants to gain knowledge

Not worth the hype
For all the hype, this book is not in the same league as Graham's "The Intelligent Investor". What struck me about this comparison is that where Graham's book is ground breaking and innovative, this one contains sparse nuggets of insight. If this book is on your bucket list, tick it off; but do not expect greatness.

boring and pompous
really boring and pompous, full of personal details that don'f have anything to do with the title, just to glorify the protagonist.

Awesome book!
Timeless! Every investor should read this! He even outlines the the government response to Covid-19! Investors who read this would have accurately called the March 2020 bottom and known how to proceed once the Fed intervened by holding on or promptly buying back in.
