Being kidnapped by aliens is only the start of Jade's problems. Thankfully, her rescuers, an alien race known as the Clecanians, are willing to protect her, but she has to stay on their planet for one year and respect the rules of their culture - including choosing a husband. Jade refuses at first but decides to play along until she can find a way back to Earth.

Theo, a scarred mercenary who prefers a life of solitude, is stunned when Jade selects him as her husband. After years of being passed over, he never imagined he would be chosen and neither did anyone else. Only one explanation makes sense...the curvy enticing female must be a spy, and Theo's determined to break her cover using any means necessary.

As Jade and Theo are forced to spend time together, their chemistry becomes undeniable. But neither can afford to bring love into the equation, especially since Jade seems determined to go home. After all, she can't possibly stay here, right?

I'm not into fantasy or scifi AT ALL, but this was a fun story! I wouldn't have minded a few more naughty moments, but they did take enough time building the characters and world to actually get me invested. Would've helped if there was a female voice for the female characters, but the voice actor did a good job seperating the characters. I'm off to listen to book two!

The serie is brilliant but this book remains my favourite. Characters are well written and the story is very well imagined. I definitely recommend it!

Pas mauvais du tout pour une space romance, on se laisse prendre à l’histoire, assez intéressante pour compenser la quantité de 🌶️. La narration est de bonne qualité, la voix du narrateur très juste et pour une fois, il n’y a pas de narration féminine.

A première vue, jamais je n’aurais choisis une histoire d’extraterrestre. Cependant ce livre était très souvent recommandé par une bookstagrameuse que je suis. Après une petite recherche je le vois inclus dans l’abonnement donc je me dis go.
OMG… Pourquoi je me l’ai pas écouté plus tôt !!! J’ai simplement adoré ! Tentez le coup !
Je passe au tome 2 les yeux fermés :)
