This is my second read-through of this book, and my first time listening to the audiobook version. I had enjoyed my first read through, as the story is both very Rom-Com cute (pretend boyfriends, only one bed trope), the prose is funny, all while simultaneously managing to portray human beings in all their complexity. But this audiobook elevates this book. Joe Jameson’s performance truly enhances the wit, the cheek, and the emotion of it. He manages to make characters I’d found insufferable on my first read through actually charming. I have been obsessively listening to this, in a way I so very rarely manage to with audiobooks. Well done to both Alexis and Joe, and thank you.
