Description

Former Army MP Mercy Carr and her retired bomb-sniffing dog, Elvis, are back in Blind Search, the sequel to the critically acclaimed A Borrowing of Bones.

It’s October, hunting season in the Green Mountains - and the Vermont wilderness has never been more beautiful or more dangerous. Especially for nine-year-old Henry, who’s lost in the woods. Again. Only this time, he sees something terrible. When a young woman is found shot through the heart with a fatal arrow, Mercy thinks that something is murder. But Henry, a math genius whose autism often silences him when he should speak up most, is not talking.

Now, there’s a murderer hiding among the hunters in the forest - and Mercy and Elvis must team up with their crime-solving friends, game warden Troy Warner and search-and-rescue dog Susie Bear, to find the killer - before the killer finds Henry. When an early season blizzard hits the mountains, cutting them off from the rest of the world, the race is on to solve the crime, apprehend the murderer, and keep the boy safe until the snowplows get through.

Inspired by the true search-and-rescue case of an autistic boy who got lost in the Vermont wilderness, Paula Munier's mystery is a compelling roller coaster ride through the worst of winter - and human nature.

Pretty good

A busy murder mystery with multiple suspects from all walks of life kept me busy following all the red herrings. As with the previous book in this series, I happily involved myself with the wonderful dogs that took part in most of the heroine's and hero's adventures. I look forward to more Mercy and Elvis and Troy and SusieBear and the rest of the crew in more detective work.

Really enjoying this series!

Enjoyed this as much as the first book - A Borrowing of Bones - I like the characters, the story line and the narration. My only complaint is that it will almost another year for the next instalment...

Nice Try

Just could not get into this audiobook. The Narrator was ok . No vocal variety and plain. The storyline did not help her at all. No more Paula Munier. Hope other liked the books.

great till the very end

loved story itself, just bummed at how she wrote the very last interaction between main characters, but presume it was to give a plot point for them to pick up in the next book. I do wish there was a little more to the romance but other than that I thoroughly enjoyed the rare inclusion of autism in a k9 series book. From a dog trainer's point of view, I'd absolutely recommend to others, even to fellow trainers.

I adore Mercy Carr. Plot perfect story & heart

Brava Paula Munier. Enjoyed Blind Search. Secrets, lies, mystery—and some romance. Adore Mercy Carr & her canine buddy, Elvis. And, my goodness, that final scene! Wowza; heart pumping. Plot perfect, beautiful writing, character development, and set up for book 3 ahead. Fantastic audio narration (as was her performance in book #1 in this series) from Kathleen McInerney.

I want a sequel!

This story has more twists and turns, heart wrenching sadness, and of course, smart dogs than should be allowed. Just when you think you've got it all solved, there's another confrontation. I want a sequel that will bring some resolution to that last issue. I just love reading search k-9 stories!

Another Great Book...

I loved this second Mercy Karr and her dog Elvis. It was full of wonderful new characters. Another gripping mystery full of twists and turns that kept you guessing until the very end. And as I listened to Kathleen McInerney's narration I was transported to Vermont in Autumn with changing leaves, snow and smoking fireplaces...excellent! Can't wait for book 3!

Loved the adventure!

I loved both of these books. I can’t wait for the next one. There’s nothing like a woman and her dog leading a mystery. It was so much fun. More please.
