Walt Ridgeway is a poet at heart. He's not like other boys. He likes to think, write, and dream of life beyond his tiny Appalachian town. When he has to go help his aunts clean out his grandma's house, he's not expecting anything exciting. Until he becomes reacquainted with a local hillbilly boy, he knows from summer's past.
Dooley Harlow has a hard life. After his father left, he and his mom ended up in a bad way. He wants more than anything to find peace and be happy. Right now, he's barely getting by. Little does he know, the comfort and happiness he seeks are a lot closer than he thinks.
Join number one best-selling author Daniel Elijah Sanderfer for this modern Shakespearean meets hillbillies story about coming of age, friendship, family secrets, and first love.
