In a private audience, Kilkenny learns of an unreported atrocity committed against the underground Church in China and its link to Yin Daoming, the long-imprisoned Bishop of Shanghai who has served 30 years of a life sentence in a Chinese laogai for refusing to renounce the Church of Rome. The aging pope then reveals the dangerous truth about Bishop Yin, a secret that he has kept for over 20 years. Decades of diplomacy have failed to end China's persecution of the Catholics loyal to the pope, or to free Bishop Yin. The pope wants Yin free and asks Kilkenny to devise a plan to accomplish this seemingly impossible task.
With help from the U.S. president, American Special Forces, and the CIA, he assembles a team of 10 men and one woman that will use some of the most advanced weapons, aircraft, and computer technology to execute this extraordinary mission.
Tom Grace has created a spell binding story of intrigue that weaves its way through the Vatican, China, and the Mafia. The Pope requests the help of a former Navy Seal to aide him in the release a Chinese Bishop whatever it takes. The Bishop has been imprisoned for over 30 years for not revoking his religion. When the Pope dies in his sleep several days later, a drastic plan is put into place; time is against them, the next Pope may rescind the order to rescue the Bishop. In the background, the US President has offered the Pope help on an unofficial level. The help comes in the way of volunteer Navy Seals and exciting prototype equipment no one has seen yet. It leads to a story line that keeps you bound to this book page by page to the very astounding end. I highly recommend this book.

This is a paean to the Papacy. The plot is super thin. The narration was overdone.
Spend your money on something that has a chance to be entertaining.
