Great narration classic story
Having never read it as a child I was surprised by the storyline- much more thought provoking than I would have imagined. Great narration! I was hooked

Before Victor Becomes Frankenstein
A wonderful book, so well written and who didn't age that much even though it is one of the founding member of what is today fantastic and horror genre.
Also, I'm not familiar with Dan Stevens, but when he speaks as Frankenstein with the german/swiss accent, his voice reminded me so much of Christopher Waltz I had my doubt for a moment.
So bonus if you enjoy Hans Landa as much as I do.

Dan Stevens is amazing as always!
Beaucoup de descriptions et quelques longueurs mais Dan Stevens offre une superbe performance et est incroyable comme toujours !

a must read even if you're not much into the genre
I am French and read it when I was a child, in French, I didn't like the translation back then, something was off. Well, now that I am way more fluent in English I decided to give it another go. This time in its original version. And, oh my dear, was I surprised ! I loved it ! Absolute delight, wonderful text, rich and powerful in its grammar and vocabulary. The voice of Dan Stevens is great, the pace is calm, yet, full of emotions and turmoil when needed. I couldn't stop listening to it, and now that I'm done I just want to re-listen to it again. I even bought a paper version now, as it's such a great book ! Even if I was not usually drawn towards older texts or horror fictions, this one had such a grip on me I couldn't let it go.

Surprisingly poorly written but still interesting
I listened to this out of curiosity, having never read it, although it's generally considered a classic. I was surprised at how "clunkily" it's written, and the gaping plot holes (spoiler: well of course the monster is going to kill her - duhhhh). Long rambling monologues and unrealistic dialogue. But it's still a relevant critique in this 21st century on how societies shun and lash out at "difference" (race, disability....). Narration generally good, but the "woeful" voice of the monster becomes monotonous at times.
