After 15 years stuck behind a desk in the software industry, Bob Clagett walked away from a well-paying, stable job to make the things he was interested in and show the world how to make them, too. His company, I Like to Make Stuff, started as a hobby but quickly grew into a passion project.
In "Making Time", Bob recounts his history and build-up to becoming a full-time content creator, and shares his process, experiences, and mistakes from his first two years of self-employment. The audiobook covers topics from income streams to emotional exhaustion as well as Bob's thoughts on purpose and responsibility.
Bob's creativity can do attitude and his ability to believe in the impossible continue to inspire Millions.
The Bob-father does a good job at bringing the reader through his journey in a concise, easy, and enjoyable listen.
Thanks Bob for sharing your story. It is so good to not only hear your story but your process.
This isn't a step by step, how you make a YouTube channel book. This is a how you make time to do what you want to do kind of book. And what I mean is Bob tells you what he had to do to overcome fears, distractions, and disorganization to make his channel/brand. The book is shorter than some podcasts I listen to, but I will definitely be re-listening to it soon. Chapter 15 really hit home with me.
Just like Bob's videos, this audio book is outstanding. His simple no-nonsense way of explaining how he built his business is just as compelling as his video content.
Seems like a genuine guy but it seemed like he was just going all over the place. Ended the book thinking two things: what was the overall point and why?
Loved how he narrated his own book, it felt personal when listening to. Great realistic goals and I really took to heart his reference for getting out of debt before diving into any new big business plans. I will most likely listen to this multiple times because of how quick and easy it was to read.
