Terrible!
Great Bosch story, consistent with the series. However, the ambient soundtrack and the manner of story telling (deflection used) distracts from the story. Constantly sounds like an infomercial. Not the best format for an audio book.

Great Connoly Story, read by a sub-par vocal actor
Love the storyline, dislike the narrator and found the music very annoying- returned for original.

what is that background noise?!
Really like the Bosch books and this story was one of the better ones. I thought the ending could have been more exciting and a little less obvious but overall, great bosch book. that all being said, why was there background noise and music during the reading?! Incredibly corny and unnecessary. the narrator was new, not as good as before...everyone sounded pretty much like the same character. but that background noise was borderline unbearable.

Horrible narration
Just like someone else put it “ sounds like Bosch is a voice over actor for one of those - in a world where - movie trailers.
The narrator has no acting skills whatsoever , his voice is never on point with the message intended and the background music is awful and distracting .
With so many bad reviews , how has audible not redone it already ? You’re doing a disservice to the series

Great Story
Another great Harry Bosch mystery. The sound effects were fine. Didn’t bother me at all. Thought the narrator was excellent.

Great Story!
Another well done story from Michael Connelly. I really like how Peter Giles' voice sets the story, and the soundtrack just makes it really cinematic for me! Well done!

Another hit from Harry Bosch.Loved the Soundtrack!
Listened on my Bose headphone and the soundtrack added a new dimension to the audiobook. I actually think it would be even better if the soundtrack was a little louder. Peter's raspy voice perfect for this series.

The sound effects ruined the bool
I am usually entertained by Michael Connelly books but I couldn't stomach this one. The sound effects completely ruined the book to the point that I had to turn it off and ask for a refund. PLEASE leave out the sound effects or figure out a way to turn them off. Very disappointing because I was looking forward to listening to this one.

Terrible background music.
I have read the book and it was exciting. But I could not stand the terrible background music in this audio book. First time ever I went on to the next Connelly story without finishing this one.

complex story, enjoyable Bosch
Liked the story, didn't care for the reading too much, could do without the music effects. The story is good as it is and doesn't need to be made more exciting or sensational by the speaker or the music.

Story great, production annoying
While the story is as good as you would expect from the Bosch series, this audiobook was produced with background music and audio effects. Both are very annoying and distracting. I highly recommend to listen to the sample and urge Audible to provide a version with only the narrator’s voice.

störende Musik im Hintergrund
Ich bin noch am Anfang des Hörbuchs, aber schon total genervt von der dauernden Hintergrundmusik. Man kann sich gar nicht auf den Sprecher konzentrieren.
Sehr nervig und enttäuschend. Wie kommt man auf die Idee, ein HörBUCH mit Mudik zu unterlegen...???
