A must have!
If you don't have any idea about the economic system, this is the very first book you should read in order to get some very simple and basic facts. Great book.

Depressing and awfully read….
It started well, but the author of this book lost me when he started to make analogies with doctors (being an example of scarce resources having alternative uses) and free pricing… There is no even mention of social security (which exists in Europe)… And instead of talking about « making more doctors » the author choses to advice to rise their prices (like if it could by miracle diminish the number of patients)… Medicine is not a customer / client relation… And economics is a study, not a science (like he pretends) and I find his view being extremely liberal (everything is motivated only by profits and losses) and depressing… Moreover, the book it’s awfully (!) read by a robotic and unpleasant voice used to commercials…. So no, thank you…

misleading title
That might have been silly and/or naive of me, but when I buy a book called "Basic economics", I expect it to be about about the basics of economics, not a pamphlet on laissez-faire policies.
