Mike McColl Jones has heard the words 'And now here's...' 6000 times and each of those 6000 times tonight show hosts such as Graham Kennedy, Don Lane, Bert Newton and Steve Vizard have walked into shot and spoken words written for them by Mike. Few people are more qualified to write this history of Australian Tonight shows. In a career spanning decades, Mike has been a creator of television's funniest moments on-screen and an insider off-screen.©1999 Mike McColl Jones (P)2004 Bolinda Publishing

Editor's review

Mike McColl Jones is the brains behind many of Australia's talk shows. For decades he's written lines for celebrity hosts like Steve Vizard and Graham Kennedy. In And Now Here's…, Jones examines the history of these shows from his personal experience. With actor Mark Mitchell at the helm, this audiobook isn't just any old walk down memory lane. It's an engaging look at Australia's love affair with the big personalities who tuck the country in every night. Mitchell's voice is intelligent and sturdy. American audiences will be glad that Mitchell balances his strong Australian accent with clear enunciation.
