My 31-year-old self clicked and swiped her little heart out, leading to more dates than I could count, and more disappointment than I was prepared for.

Maybe you can relate. Maybe you know all too well the perils of modern dating. But let’s say, eventually, you meet someone. You think to yourself, “Wow, they’re perfect! Take me off the market, put a ring on it, knock me up, the whole enchilada, because they are ‘the one.’” Let’s also say that they “feel the same way” about you. Your life starts to make sense! All the pain, heartbreak, and frustration from past failed relationships was worth it. Slow clap.

That’s how I felt about Milos. He was from Europe, a doctor, wealthy, athletic. He had an accent and a dog. Milos was textbook marriage material. For him it was “love at first sight”, but for me, it was “anxiety on every date”. Something was telling me to run - but for two years, the only running I did was straight into his arms.

If only I would have listened. This isn’t a love story. It’s my story of survival.

    Man, do I feel bad for Brittanni and her kid... listening to this felt like watching a mafia movie. Everything was picture perfect until things started to crumble. Congrats to Brittani for making the narrative so interesting, great read!

    I first watched Brittani's videos in 2007. I've since lost touch with her content until a video announcing her pregnancy and engagement was suggested to me by youtube. And then, two years later, I hear she released a book !
    Well, turns out the fiance was a con artist ! I will not spoil the details of the emotional abuse she went through, I will let you read it for yourselves. It is not the best written book, but it is easy to listen to.
    I felt bad for Brittani, she reminded of a sweet, well intentionned, hopeful friend of mine who always falls for the wrong guys.
    She does come off as naive but I try not to judge her too harshly. As they say : "Love makes us blind".
    I am glad Brittani is doing better. I truly hope she works on her self-esteem and surrounds herself with positive people and professionnal help, especially since she had a child with said con artist.
