Description
Jenny knows she isn’t the princess type. Sure, she’s friendly and caring, but with her clumsiness and lack of self-confidence, glass slippers would only make her trip. When Dom, the cute guy she runs into in the park, turns out to be the prince of San Noelle, she figures he must not be her happy ever after. But a mysterious countess grants Jenny’s one wish, and she finds herself married to this handsome prince!
Unfortunately, at the stroke of midnight on Christmas night, her life will go back to normal. In funny and touching ways, Jenny navigates royal traditions the best she can. But even as she grows closer to Dom, the clock is ticking. With love and a little holiday magic, could she somehow make the enchantment last forever?

A sweet story of love and self-discovery.
This story wasn't what I had expected. I'm not sure if I just didn't read the description well enough, but I had expected it would all stay firmly grounded in reality. I wasn't expecting a good chunk of the book to actually be the wish, which may or may not have been real. That being said, it was still a very enjoyable book.
Jenny is a woman who struggles with her self-confidence. She often doesn't feel she's "good enough" for things and tends to avoid any situation in which she could be rejected, even if that means sabotaging her own job interviews. She views herself as clumsy and always messing up. Her best friend makes an excellent point though that the times she messed up and regrets were all a result of her backing away from something (whether literally or metaphorically). Her wish ended up giving her so much more than simply what she asked for, a fairytale Christmas. Over the course of the wish, she was able to discover who she really is and learned to be entirely, unapologetically herself. She not only finds her self-confidence, but realizes what she wants to do with her life: help others.
I listened to the Audible version of this book. I think Arielle DeLisle did a good job with the narration. The one thing I noticed is that Dom's accent seemed to be slightly different at the end of the book than it was at the beginning. While San Noelle is made up and therefore the accent can be made up, it needs to be consistent. I noticed that in the latter part of the book a slight brogue seemed to come out in Dom's voice. That being said, it was minor and didn't really detract from the story itself. Overall, the narration was very well done.

Cute
I could see it being shown as a hallmark Christmas movie. Narration was great - characters interesting.

I am sorry I read this book
It was a really depressing and selfabsorded girl and nothing really happened. Don't ruin your mood this christmas by reading this.
