Description
Annie Prudhomme never expected to be back in Marietta, Montana, and her family is fond of reminding her that she left them and the town behind in search of better things. A humiliating divorce that cost her everything she'd gained has driven her back home, and her family isn't about to welcome her back into the fold. She's in town to rebuild the old home she inherited and to move on once again.
Carson Scott never forgot Annie or the way she left. Now that she's back in town, he's realizing the old flame still burns hot, but he can't risk his heart the way he did last time, now that he has his son to think about it.
Being trapped together during a December snowstorm gives them a chance to rekindle their romance, but is Annie back for good, or is she just looking for a cowboy for Christmas?

Skipped chapters to get to the ending.
Story was ok but the narrator kept saying “he said” “she said” every time a character spoke. Very distracting and it ruined the flow of the book. The sad thing is the narrator was great with character voices. She did not have to keep repeating he said - she said. The voices were very distinct and she did amazing, so the extra grammar hints took away from her talent.

A great read
I loved the storyline and characters. The only thing I really found I didn’t like was the he said and she said being said for every character as they talked. I highly recommend this book.

Not a fan of Romance’s.
I don’t usually enjoy Romance books. Probably because most have little to do with actual romance or love or, what loved is truly supposed to be. A lot of these (romance) stories are dripping with lust and hormones and sex which is not “love” but… and when lust is the main driving force it becomes almost impossible to make wise decisions...
Life is hard and Annie had to learn the hard way and now she needs to make better decisions and maybe that starts with moving back home to Montana; a place she didn’t ever seem to want to be but life happens and while I am not convinced that she can stick it out when things get tough again; after all, Annie is a runner but who knows, maybe Carson’s love and stability will give Annie the strength and confidence that she is looking for

Mixed feelings
I have mixed feelings about this novella because I wish the characters had been more fully developed and that their story was longer. While I liked Annie and Carson I didn’t really feel like I knew them which made it hard to feel emotionally connected to them so their romance was just okay for me. I listened to the audiobook version and I liked the narration performance of Loretta Rawlins.

I thoroughly enjoy this series. I wish this particular story was longer. The characters are interesting and need more time.

Least liked of the multiple series
The basis for plot was good, cute 2nd chance love for the girl that got away. This is the sexiest most descriptive of the 4 books. A few details contradicted each other. I was never able to like either character, both were selfish in different ways but they felt sorry for themselves and it was appalling. The biggest downfall was the constant repetition of their internal dialog -'should I or should I' got old because it seemed it was the only trick the writer knew to drag I tension into the love affair. It felt disingenuous as if it was done only to lengthen the story rather than enhance it. I was exhausted of it by chapter 6 with all the back and forth. Big pass on this one for me
