    Description

This book is volumes 1-3 of the very popular series 150 Really Useful English Phrases.

Do you feel stuck in the intermediate English level?

Do you want to break out and start improving quickly?

Then this is the perfect book to help you move up to the advanced level and start using everyday English fluently.

What made me want to write this book?

After years of teaching intermediate students who never seemed to improve, I decided to find out what the problem was. Essentially, intermediate students get stuck because learning at this stage is a different type of learning than at the beginner stage. You have mastered the grammar and the basic vocabulary, but most textbooks just carry on like nothing has changed. However, what you need at the intermediate stage is not just more dry grammar and lists of vocabulary but to be exposed to as much real English in as many real-life situations as possible. This will help you start to understand what people are actually saying and not just textbook English. It will also help you to naturally get a feel for the language. Because I couldn't find a book that introduced everyday English phrases in a fun and engaging way, I decided to write one myself.

How will this book help you?

Every new phrase is introduced in the real context of a short story or an article. So by having fun and listening to something interesting, you will be learning naturally rather than having to force yourself to study. It's a simple fact that if you are having fun, you will learn more quickly and easily.

This series of books is an excellent way to be exposed to real, everyday English phrases but with the guidance of clear explanations and examples in simple English. Basically it uses simple language to introduce more complex phrases, so you are eased into a more advanced level.

Bon complément pour apprendre du vocabulaire

Tout est en anglais, donc on travaille la comprehe sion et le vocabulaire.
seul inconvénient: pas toujours le temps de realiser/integrer ce qu'on vient d'entendre.
Je l'écoute en voiture, c est pratique.

    Great book

Really helpful book . I’m confident when speaking in English and when bought this book I thought let’s check out. When I listened to it I was really surprised by the amount of phrases that are used by natives but I never used them. So I started incorporating these phrases in my daily conversation. Example : just in the nick of time this is really used a lot by natives to say that something is happening just on time.

Great to learn how natives talk!

I am not a native English speaker but lived in the States for years. I've found 1/4 of phrases in this book that I had not fully grasped, so love the fact that the book could bring my English up to speed and strengthen my speaking skills in workplace. I recommend buying both Kindle and Audible so that you can read out aloud following the narrator. Practice is key.

    Really Userful

What made the experience of listening to 500 Really Useful English Phrases the most enjoyable?

The narrator did a wonderful job and it made it really run to listen to.

What other book might you compare 500 Really Useful English Phrases to and why?

This is a self help book but with lots of good narrations now it maybe a little basic for some but I like the examples that are given. I even shared this with my wife who just recently immigrated to the US and really loves how this audiobook because it gives her a better understanding of how the phrases works.

What about Jus Sargeant’s performance did you like?

Loved the accent, it definitely made the narration better.

    Any additional comments?

“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.”

    Very Intermediate

Good book only for intermediate level. This will not take one to an advanced level English. An intermediate level speaker would know most of the expressions covered.

I really enjoyed listening to the narrator.

“The narration was excellent. The narrator’s accent lends a magical feel to the plot thread that I found hilariously subtle. Five Stars.”

This Is what I want - from A mediumn level student

It's simple and perfect materials to middle level English majors. Practice listening and learn more about the phrases. But for English-major undergraduates, it May be too easy and no challenge.

    Nicht als Hörbuch geeignet

Was braucht dieses Hörbuch, um für Sie zu einem 4- oder 5-Sterne Hörerlebnis zu werden?

Und es verfolgen zu können, fände ich es besser mit deiner pdf. Bei vielen englischen Schbüchern kann man das, hier leider nicht.

Würden Sie sich wieder etwas von Jenny Smith anhören?

Wenn eine pdf beigefügt is dann ja
