Description
If there’s one thing Brooke Sullivan knows for sure is that people let you down, but that hasn’t stopped her from going after the life she wants. In a new city, with a new job and a new start as a high-end real estate agent, she’s finally back on her feet. The last thing she needs is a distraction. Not her volatile neighbors, not a damn stray cat, and certainly not the flaky, infuriatingly adorkable girl-next-door property stager she has to work with.
Macy Carr believes in soul mates and true love. She knows because she had it all, until a freak accident took the love of her life. She’s doing okay though, surrounded by her family, her animals, and her BFFs. Home staging gives her a sense of control, and she’s made her job her happy place. If only the super sexy, super cold new agent working for Macy’s biggest client wasn’t determined to ruin that.

Lovely story
I'm a big fan of G. Beers works, and this one is no exception. There was a depth to the characters that was really interesting, they used relatable coping mechanisms to overcome some of their issues...
and Lori Prince's performance as a narrator was really good.

Good.... But strangely there was barely any sex
Strange for a GB book to have so little sex in it... But as usual Lori Prince was outstanding.

Excellent
Well written, excellent narration. Loved the story line, and loved Macy, she is a dog lover like amny in Georgia Beers’ books.

Good story, horrible narration
I'm sorry, I really cannot stand this narrator. She would probably be fine for other genres, but she always narrates her main characters sounds snarky and sarcastic, like they're one continuous eye roll throughout the entire book. And the way she narrated the friend, Lucas, was so bizarre...at first I thought he had a mouthful of food and she was acting that out, but that was his weird mumble-mouthed voice all through the book. The book itself was good but the narration was so distracting I don't think I could give the story a fair review.

Meh
There may be spoilers below.
This was part of Audible’s $5 sale and decided to give it a try as I don’t have many in this genre. I’ve never read this author before and won’t go out of my way to do so. The book was fine, I mostly enjoyed the beginning, not so much the end.
The narrator was not enjoyable. At all. She has very few character voices so some are ridiculous. One of the men’s voices she uses sounds like Jim Carey’s the Grinch. There’s a lot of whiny voices/tones.
The characters. I liked them at first and then not so much. Brooke is bi, except she’s ashamed of being bi, even though she left her home to be herself but she’s ashamed of herself. Also, she’s very into religion. This is quite a bit of her inner thoughts until she finds a church. It was starting to be too much for me but then it was a subjective that just disappeared. Also, Brooke was clueless. Macy told her how her partner died but then Brooke is shocked by Macy’s behavior at the manufactured by the author drama. Duh. I didn’t necessarily not like Macy. She was a little much but not bad.
And a question for the author, can we talk about the medical drama? I’d like to know how this happened in a two hour period that Brooke was there. People live there. Does that mean they never use the oven? This wasn’t believable and it really changed my opinion of the book. I was leaning towards 4 stars but that ridiculousness ended it for me.
Don’t listen to the book. Maybe I’d feel different if I read it but I’ll never know.

Male voices
The story was cute and predictable per lesfic writing. The narrator did an OK job with the female voices, but Lucas and Sam's voices were horrible.
I do wish there would have been a more about their work.

best yet
I think this might be the best Georgia Beers book yet. And I’m not sure if it’s because I can relate so much to Brooke or because I love Macy so much. Whatever the reason, I love it. I wasn’t really a fan of Lucas’s voice but that’s okay. Still a great story and a great read and a great narration. Thank you both for a job well done.

Sweet
I enjoyed the journey in this sweet romance whose characters I was rooting for from their 1st meeting. Lori Prince brought the characters to life with her narration.

An Amazing Book!
This is a well written, and well performed book. Georgia Beers does not disappoint in the story of love lost. As I listened to this story, my own heart ached due to my own loss of my love due to death, and I found myself crying several times. Lori Prince once again gives an amazing performance for Macy and Brook. The first line had me in stitches and I laughed at the bumbling, yet adorable Macy. I don’t want to ruin the experience for anyone, so I will say LISTEN TO THIS ONE!

Bittersweet
I enjoyed the multi-generational story arc as much as the primary meet-cute couple’s journey.
