Paul visited Thessalonica early in his second missionary journey, A.D. 50-52. In Paul’s day, Thessalonica was the second largest city in Greece/Macedonia, trailing only Athens in size. Amazingly, Paul spends only “three Sabbath days” here before he has to leave town - or be lynched! Yet within six months the church in Thessalonica has become known all over the Roman world for its extraordinary faith.
