I'm a S. Kinsella fan but this novel was a huge disappointment . The beginning was promising but the story became more and more silly and the characters are complet caricatures and irritating. I struggled to finish it. I expected more and better. Do not recommend . Read 'Shopaholic' instead.

Great story, beautifully written

I highly recommend this great story about love and war. The narrator's pronunciation of French and Hungarian words is crap (like really bad) but hey, give the man some slack. Can you really expect from an average(I mean normal) American man to speak fluent French and Hungarian?

great

A true story about an extraordinary brave and tough woman who shines light and gives praise to the people (also extraordinary) that she has worked with. hard working and genuine, positive and someone who has done so much for minorities, children, black people and women. a great read. Michelle: I love you. You are the best. Please give a big hug to your mum from me.

Well written and fun to listen to. The narrator's British accent is not good but that doesn't alter the listening experience. A very nice feel -good novel. I recommend.

Sweet , sad but mostly sweet and funny.

Great and captivating story from ww2. The readers' French pronounciation is poor and this can be irritating since there are quite a few words read in French . But if you are not half French as I am you probably won't notice. I really recommend this book.

I absolutely loved this novel! It is incredibly well written. One of the Best books I've ever read/listened to ( and I've read quite a lot). It is specially interesting that many of the characters in the book are based on true people. A must-read!

I really love L.R.s writing and this is once again a captivating story that kept me awake several nights. I just find it a bit too superficial when it comes to all the money issues. Where does all the Marchmont money come from? everyone knows that all big mansions and farms nowadays are very expensive to run. When Ceska spends 'a lot' on hotel suites and at Harrod's she takes the money from the Marchmont account and in the end after the fire the book says that the insurance money is not important ... I reckon money is not at all the issue in the book but it kind of makes it a little bit shallow .
