Lots of threads to this story which had me thinking up my own sub plots all the way through.
I find that audio books make me feel more part of the story than if I'm reading it myself. It'll take me a bit of time to get over the horribleness of the people in this story!

Highly recommended.

The many voices that narrated this troubling and yet optimistic tale transported me to a time and place I couldn't know.

A beautifully crafted story described chronologically from different viewpoints has left me wanting to know more about this period in history and makes me understand better why there are still problems today.

A recommended 'listen'. I'm sure the audible book, especially for this book is much more powerful than if I'd read the book myself.

It was difficult to get into the story for me, but then it became an addiction.... It's a wonderful story of courage and resilience.

A beautifully crafted story with so many details and so much emotion.
The audible recording was just right. The readers had interesting voices.

I was in floods of tears at the end ... Loved it.
