been casually following the Warhammer 40k universe for about a year through YouTube videos.
this was my first Warhammer 40k (audio)book

i liked the story, it tries to bring the massive scale of the war and it's machines into words. which it sometimes succeeds at.

only thing I didn't like is the ending. it isn't stated what happens next. it all ends a bit to abruptly, as if they noticed the book was already too long and had to cut some of it out.
I've read this is often the case in Warhammer 40k, nonetheless a great book, does honour to the valor shown from the characters

detailed and well-balanced book

as a European, I long contemplated if i should even bother.
turns out, it's worth every penny and minute I spent on it.
it had me emotional on multiple occasions, where this usually doesn't happen.

Michelle is of course, politically biased but only rarely shows this.

I sincerely recommend this to anyone, man or woman, black or white.
I'm looking forward to Baracks book.

inspiring and informative

as a novice in Russian history, I knew little before starting this book. although not always easy to follow, it depicts nicely what happened in Russian Gulags.
