Superbly written and read. Ancient stories that explain so much about our culture still. This book connects the modern firmly in the roots of the ancient. Things I should know or vaguely did know brought into exquisite relief by clear and poetic eloquence.
The gods, having been dormant since my grandmother stopped recounting the tales to me, became more alive and more real than ever.
Will be a repeat listen for sure. Highly recommend it to all.

Hitchens has put together an impressive anthology in support of atheism. Each extract is fascinating in itself and it's historical context.
You will listen to this and certainly be motivated to dig deeper into some key texts from the worlds great philosophers.

If I have a criticsm it is that there should be more clarity over when the comments or preamble start or stop and the reading of the texts themselves. Two voices would have been ideal. One for Hitchens and one for the texts being read.

Highly recommended.

Great delivery of a great classic.

If you have not heard or read Huckleberry this is a must. Elijah Wood delivers it perfectly. It will grip you to the end.
