Homicide detective Mandi Murphy had seen enough bloodshed on the streets of Houston to last a lifetime. After a botched drug bust left a friend dead, she wanted out of the city. Peaceful little Sawmill Springs seemed like the perfect spot to start over. Six weeks on patrol proved the town to be as quiet and serene as she'd imagined.

I found it very difficult to follow with all the "She said" not knowing who was the "she". Perhaps in the written version it was OK but when listening it was unpleasant to have to work out who was concerned while trying to follow the story

I don't usually enjoy such a sweet story but this one was just perfect. A sensitive analysis of how two people can see past the superficial veneer and get to the real person. A delicate moving story. Any chance of a follow-up ? P.S. "Gaspard" was the name of a cat I had.

Faith Martin's books never disappoint. Always such great portraits of people and her heroine is so convincing it's always a pleasure to read more about her life. This is my first audio book for her and I wasn't at all disappointed which is not easy as I've read the entire series and was wondering how I'd find the audio experience
