Saving the city was the mission. Getting out alive is something else entirely.
Kinshasa is days from falling. A rebel force four times the size of its defenders is massing at the gates, a desperate call for help has gone out, and only one team answers. Shaw arrives with six operators and an AC-130 gunship. They hold the line. They drive the rebels back. The siege breaks at nightfall.
The trap springs at dawn.
The attacking warlord was never the real threat. The UN peacekeepers patrolling the city answer to a different authority entirely—and the woman Shaw came to protect is at the center of it all. The city turns against his team, the embassy locks down, and somewhere in the chaos, a Chinese powerbroker with a personal score to settle is lying in wait.
Shaw has always found a way through. But he's never walked into a war designed specifically for him to lose.
Perfect for fans of Jack Carr and Brad Thor, Harrison Kone's David Shaw returns to Africa—a besieged capital, a stolen victory, and a Chinese power play that puts his entire team in the crosshairs.
