Jillian Laine
Summary
Mary Tudor has a secret. She is convinced a demon lurks inside her heart, one that makes her do terrible, bloody things. But now that she has everything she's ever wanted—the throne, the confidence of her nation’s people, and the ability to make England Catholic again—maybe the demon’s power over her will finally subside. There’s even a marriage treaty pending with Philip of Spain, which means a chance to recreate the family she lost.
Her half sister, Elizabeth, has a secret of her own. She suspects the rumors about her mother, Anne Boleyn, were true: that the disgraced queen was a witch, and that those powers were passed down to her. But for the moment, at least, Elizabeth is less worried about being found out for her magic and more concerned about the damage her bitter, ambitious sister will do to England now that she wears the crown.
With every bid for power, every execution, and every paranoid thought, Mary follows in the footsteps of Henry VIII. Meanwhile, Elizabeth stirs the embers of a rebellion that will force her to reckon with old ghosts, painful defeats, a secret sisterhood, and the very magic that runs through her veins.
In the end, who will triumph: the demon or the witch?

Praise for Jillian Laine
“Sharp, emotional, and deeply relevant, Jillian Laine’s debut tells the story of queens reclaiming their power. Read this book if you love stories about sisterhood, magic, and a witty ‘what-if?’”—Jodi Meadows, New York Times bestselling coauthor of My Lady Jane
“History as it should have been, Henry Tudor Must Die delivers the delicious revenge we’ve been craving for centuries.”—Kirsten Miller, author of The Change and The Women of Wild Hill
“Unlike anything I have ever read! Fiercely feminist, with a secret society of women, witchcraft, and court politics and schemes. . . . A truly remarkable debut!"—Naina Kumar, USA Today bestselling author
"Hell hath no fury like a woman who survives her own beheading. Jillian Laine has peeled back history and added a few layers of her own to construct a cast of dangerously clever, witchy women with sharp edges and a righteous cause. Henry Tudor Must Die is an exquisite declaration of female rage, sisterhood, and what it takes to stand against the abuse of power in a deeply unjust world." —Emily Krempholtz, USA Today bestselling author
“A rambunctious romp of a book. Revenge is a dish best served with a side of Henry Tudor’s head, and I loved every minute of watching his capable wives come together to sharpen their swords.”—A. Rushby, author of Slashed Beauties
“Readers who were captivated by the epic fantasy version of Tudor England in Holly Race’s Queens of Elben series will be thrilled by Laine’s explicitly feminist, paranormal-touched version of Henry’s opulent, corrupt court and his powerful, witchy wives, as will viewers of The Tudors or The Six Wives of Henry VIII and fans of the Broadway hit Six.”—Library Journal, starred review on Henry Tudor Must Die
“Readers who cut their teeth on the YA Tudor tale My Lady Jane and fans of magical revenge will enjoy this tale that allows the wives to fight back.”—Booklist, starred review on Henry Tudor Must Die
