Summary
A full-cast Christmas audio story you can finish before your coffee gets cold.
Five days before Christmas, Earl Grayson has never read Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. He has never had much fun, either.
Earl is an elder at the oldest church in the small town of Blainsworth, and he has opinions about Christmas. The tree, the holly, the feasting? Old pagan leftovers. Santa Claus, flying reindeer, talking snowmen? Balderdash. Christmas is about Christ, and it ought to be somber.
His cheerful wife, Marian, has heard enough. She drops a copy of the Dickens classic in his lap and storms out of the room. Earl reads half of it, decides Scrooge was mostly right, and dozes off by the fire.
He wakes to a glowing visitor who insists, more than once, that he is NOT a ghost. He is an Angel of the Lord, and he has a few things to show Earl: the Magi at a humble doorway, the apostle Paul dictating a letter, a bishop in Myra tossing gold through a window in the dead of night... and how Marian really spent her day.
Brought to life by a cast of distinct voices, this is a warm, funny, faith-filled Christian Christmas story about a grumpy church elder, a patient (mostly) angel, and the difference between knowing the meaning of Christmas and knowing its spirit. A clean, heartwarming holiday listen for the whole family.
An original story inspired by A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens (1843).
