I recently sat down with Rockets guard Marcus Smart for a conversation about Houston's desire to become a defense-first team, what makes this roster special, and why having five players who WANT to defend is so important.

In this episode of Locked On Rockets HIT, I'm breaking down the biggest takeaways from our conversation.

🏀 WHAT WE DISCUSS:

🔒 DEFENSE FIRST: Why Marcus Smart believes Houston's willingness to defend separates this roster from other NBA teams.

🏆 CHAMPIONSHIP POTENTIAL: What it takes for the Rockets to become legitimate NBA title contenders.

☘️ FACING BOSTON: Smart's perspective on playing against his former team, the Boston Celtics.

❤️ LIFE BEYOND BASKETBALL: How becoming a father has changed Smart's perspective on life.

🔥 THE BIG PICTURE: What Smart's experience, leadership, and defensive mentality can mean for Houston's championship aspirations.

The Rockets have plenty of offensive talent. But could their commitment to defense be what ultimately puts them over the top?
