DAY 305 - November 1 Joel 1, Joel 2:1-17 • Hebrews 3 • Psalm 119:137-144
Join our daily Bible reading as we explore the book of Joel to understand how to process national crisis and suffering.
Today we begin the book of Joel, examining the devastating locust plague that stripped the land of Judah. We look at the prophet's call for genuine repentance, noting that God seeks a change of heart rather than mere outward sorrow. This study of Joel provides a framework for how we process human suffering in our own lives.
We also examine Hebrews 3 and Psalm 119 to understand the dangers of unbelief. By looking at Israel's failure to enter God's rest, we gain perspective on the importance of maintaining a faithful heart. Connecting these ancient texts helps us keep a consistent rhythm in our daily study of scripture.
