This week, Andy sits down with two women working to improve the lives of women and families.
Olivia Walton is a philanthropist, advocate and founder who launched Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies America to cut the U.S. maternal mortality rate in half. She talks about why the mission is personal after experiencing gaps in her own postpartum care, what employers and policymakers can do to better support new mothers, and why she believes this is a mission everyone – Democrat or Republican – should get behind.
Then, Hilary Sykes, an advocate for survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence, joins Andy to talk about the Cornell case and what survivors face when they seek help. They discuss what the justice system gets right and wrong, how to support a friend or family member who discloses abuse, and why protecting survivors is an issue that should transcend party lines.
Whether you’re a parent, a survivor, a neighbor, or just someone who wants to do more to help, this episode is about how we show up for each other.
